Today I’m working from my favorite coffee shop around the corner from my house. I’ve been really into moody, sad music mixes in the last couple weeks. But today, I decided I was going to get all crazy and make a fabulous oldies mix and order a croissant. I know I know…calm down before I hurt myself. Happy Friday!
Alright folks, we’ve got some major golden hour inspiration here! I’ve heard some call it “magic hour”…when everything gets gorgeous and special and evening is upon us but not quite. It’s truly simply the best time of day, full of potential yet the peace of a day closing. And for some reason…the camera simply adores it. Here is an equally peaceful evening mix for you to enjoy a glass of wine to, listen in HERE.
I am usually not drawn towards really bright colors, but I do enjoy bright pops of color on white. And it’s a nice break from all the neutrals and jewel tones I seem to be collecting on Pinterest lately. To me, the beginning August is quintessential summer…at least in Oregon. It’s the month most likely to be rain free, even at the coast. This palette makes me think of the run-down amusement parks you can find in Seaside (a Coney Island sort of feel). All this quirk and color calls for an equally quirky music mix, listen in HERE.
Much to my husband’s dismay, I’ve been diving into the rabbit hole that period piece cinema can be. Think BBC and Masterpiece Theater running in the background pretty much the whole time I’m editing photos lately. One of my very most favorite movies is the 2005 “Pride + Prejudice” with Keira Knightly. I’m well aware that it doesn’t get much better than the 1995 version starring Colin Firth, but the LIGHT in the 2005 film is just too good, so it won my tastes this time around. The mood board above is inspired by the soft pastels + rich tones that come with the obsession of too much Jane Austen + Downton Abbey. If you are looking for a soft, beautiful mix for your work day, do listen in HERE.
